Effectiveness of Information Technology on the Operations of SACCOS

This book guides Savings and Credit Cooperative Societies on ways in which Information Technology can help them be more successful in their operations. They have been credited with success especially in the mobilizations of savings from its members and providing credit at low interest rates. Even when Information Technology is widely used worldwide, these Saccös have not fully adopted the required Information Technology frameworks in their operations nor kept the pace of adopting and effectively using the new emergent technologies. They have also been characterized with lots of inefficiencies and have continued to face stiff competition from the banks and other MFIs. Most importantly, it looks at how effectiveness of ATM system, effectiveness of asset loan management system, effectiveness of liability/saving management system and the effectiveness of financial management system can help them improve on their operations.
