Effect of Organic Formulations on Mungbean

Mungbean is a self-pollinated leguminous crop which is grown in arid and semi- arid regions of the country. It is also a drought tolerant crop and can be grown successfully on well drained loamy to sandy loam soils in uneven rainfall areas. Mungbean is generally a rainy season crop and grown without irrigation but with the development of early maturing varieties, it can also be raised in spring and summer season under irrigated condition. It is cultivated for its sprouts and edible seeds across the Asia. The continuous and imbalance use of chemical has antagonistic effect on physical, biological and chemical properties of soil. Besides causing environmental pollution, they also affect the sustainability of crop production. Use of organic manures and fertilizers instead of synthetic or inorganic fertilizers is known to increase plant growth through the supply of various plant nutrients and may help to improve environmental health and soil productivity.
