EFFECT OF MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS ON STORES PERFORMANCE AMONG HEALTHCARE

The study examined the effect of management on the performance of stores among healthcare organizations in Uganda, taking Uganda Martyr¿s Hospital Lubaga as a case study. The management functions examined included; planning, organizing, controlling and leading. The specific objectives of the study were to find out the effect of planning on stores performance, to assess the effect of organizing on stores performance, to examine the effect of controlling on stores performance and to establish the effect of leading on stores performance at Uganda Martyr¿s Hospital Lubaga. The study adopted a cross-sectional survey design which employed both quantitative and qualitative approaches to investigate the research problem. Simple random and purposive sampling techniques were employed to select a sample of 186 (51.1%) of the target population (364). The study registered a response rate of 65.1 % (121 out of 186). The researcher used self-administered questionnaires and interview guide to collect primary data from respondents. findings revealed that planning, organizing, controlling and leading have a positive significant effect on stores performance.
