Effect of laser on acid resistance of teeth

Dental caries is a multifactorial disease requiring the presence of a susceptible host, cariogenic microflora and a diet conducive to enamel demineralization. Although caries has affected humans since prehistoric times, the prevalence of this disease has greatly increased in modern times. This increase is strongly associated with dietery change. The past five decades has seen dramatic changes in the field of dentistry, especially preventive dentistry with the chance discovery of fluoride and its role played in caries prevention, has not only strengthened the field of preventive dentistry but also has changed the perspective of dentistry to common man as well as professionals. many investigations related to the application of laser in the area of preventive dentistry have been carried out.The exploration of combined use of laser and flouride for the purpose of developing new and more effective procedures for caries prevention. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of Nd:YAG laser and flouride on acid resistance of human dental enamel
