Effect of different spacing and mulching on growth and yield of Okra

Vegetable production in Nepal is much lower than the present requirement to feed the people. The reason is predominantly use of years back technology and lack of technical knowledge of the farmers along with lack of good management practices. There are different ways to revive from this situation like bringing additional area under vegetable cultivation which is a greatest problem due to urbanization. Another approach is use of hybrid seeds and improved agro-techniques like mulching by maintaining optimum plant population. Realizing this significance, This book has been prepared to make the farmer clear about the effect of different spacing and mulching on the growth and yield of okra.Different kinds of mulching materials can be used which are also documented by authors for their beneficial impact in crop production. This book aims to reveal the effects of different mulching materials on okra productivity to select the better mulching material. It is therefore, in this book an attempt has been made to analyze the change in production due to mulching and spacing.
