EFFECT OF DIETARY TURMERIC ON PRODUCTION PERFORMANCE IN LAYER BIRDS

This book explores the usage of herbal supplementation in the diet of layer birds, targeted towards improvement in egg quality and egg number. Poultry is one of the basic source of income in rural areas, however, not all the poultry farmers can utilize manufactured feed due to cost issues. Hence is it imperative to find some supplements for poultry diet that can aid in better production potential. This manuscript addresses this problem by using Turmeric as a supplement for poultry diet. Turmeric is not new for rural as well as urban society, it has its uses in human medicine too. Thus looking into its ease of availability and cost effectiveness, this research explores its usage under different regimens for better egg laying potential in layer birds, specially Jabalpur coloured birds that are mostly used in rural areas.
