Economic Impact of Micro Financing By Punjab Gramin Bank in Amritsar

In this era of globalization, generating economic growth in developing countries while reducing poverty is a fundamental challenge. The Book is all about microfinance and investigates the impact of microfinance on the poor people of the society which is the focus on Amritsar. The Problem of Economic empowerment of women through SHGs is not studied so far Especially anywhere in Punjab and As Amritsar forms the major part of Punjab, Hence, this study assures great importance. The general information of the SHGs has been analyzed with the help of primary data collected from the respondents through a Questionnaire. The empowerment of the respondents is analyzed by following before and after comparison which helps to study the changes in the lives of the respondents because of their involvement in SHG. Post-2011-12 more and more women have participated in Self-Help Groups and have been benefitted from the same in the state of Punjab. Here, Punjab Grameen Bank has also played a vital role in uplifting the life of beneficiaries of self-help groups.
