ECONOMIC CRISES. EFFECTS ON BANKING SYSTEMS AND INVESTMENT DECISION

The consequences of serious financial crises are characterised by collapses in the asset market, which are deep and prolonged, deep falls in production and employment, and the explosion of the securities and non-performing loans. The book begins with conceptual demarcations of crises, continues with the chronological presentation of the most important crises in the world with a focus on the crisis of 2008, the presentation of the real estate economy, the presentation of the 2008 crisis, the impact of the crisis on banking systems and the real estate economy. Several macroeconomic indicators are presented before and after the 2008 crisis. The book ends with a question (Will there be an economic crisis generated by COVID-19 in the next period?) which we try to answer. The book is aimed at academia, students and potential investors as well as the general public because it presents some distinctive elements, such as: the evolution of the price of gold, real estate and the exchange rate after the 2008 crisis. Likewise, a study on the influence of the 2008 crisis on banking systems in Central and Eastern European countries is also presented.
