Eco-friendly management of Early Blight of Tomato

Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) is one of the most popular vegetable crops cultivated extensively all over the world for its edible fruits. The Pathogen A. solani is air borne and soil inhabiting fungus and is responsible for early blight. The disease is characterized by the appearance of brown to dark brown necrotic spots with concentric rings on foliage, stem and fruits. Duration of survival is reduced as the depth of burial increased. Maximum radial growth was found after 120 hrs at 2.5 cm depth. The highest mycelial growth was observed in ammonium nitrate and sucrose. The highest percent inhibition against A. solani by Neem, propiconazole, and Neem cake at thirty percent concentration.
