Early Childhood Care and Development Program for Day Care Education

Early childhood care provides a child an informal education geared towards developing the child¿s mental capabilities and physical growth. It helps a child enjoy life and learn through play; it helps the child build good habits for effective living as an individual and as a member of a community; its helps the child appreciate his cultural backgrounds and customs. The day care program encourages pupil¿s growth in spiritual and moral aspects, develops the child¿s imagination, self-reliance and thinking skills and ultimately enriches the child¿s experiences to enable him to cope with school life. The kind and quality of care given to a child during the first six years of life determines what he will be as a youth and as an adult. Parents have the primary responsibility to provide this care from home and to the center which is a very important component in the development of the child.When parents place their children in a group setting, they should carefully consider each child, his needs, the reasons for the placement, the potential benefits to each child, the distinctive characteristics of available child-care facilities and the personalities of the caregivers.
