E-culture and It's Impact on Elderly's Loneliness and Life Satisfaction

Electronic technology is changing over life to a greater extent. Prevalence and excessive use of electronic product found among people, cutting across cultural difference, have set a trend for e-culture. E-culture is both technology and a social development. Hence the internet is considered as an identify-based technology. Loneliness has been described as the main problem associated with old age. Loneliness is viewed in necessary to identify the basic issues involved The objective of the study was to access the extent of use at culture among elderly across gender and to identify the relationship of e-culture with the perception of loneliness and subjective happiness among elderly. Tools used for data collection were socio-demographic sheet self-made e-culture inventory loneliness (Russell) and life satisfaction data was analyzed in terms of mean and standard deviation. Compares one was made between male and female and gender using T-test, correlation test, chi-square was used to understand the relationship between e-culture and loneliness and life satisfaction. Results confirm that the e-culture (elderly) do have a significant effect on the elderly loneliness and life satisfaction.
