Drinking Water Management and Community Participation

This book critically evaluates the importance of community participation in community driven water and sanitation projects.Being a comparative analysis it is visualizing the role of community as well as the stakeholders.For a popularity two very fruitful projects,Jalanidhi& Swajaldhara, has been referred for the study.Jalanidhi is a world bank aided project implemented by Govt of kerala. Swajaldhara is a Government of India programme implemented in the national level.The first one is more participatory in nature and acclaimed globally . community ownership is very visible in the project.While working in Jalanidhi,the authors were invited by Swajaldhara community to help them to make a jalanidhi model governance in their schemes.its a narration of field experience rather than a academic experiment.
