Divorce and Child Socialization:The Case of Garissa Counnty

The number of children suffering from psychological trauma as a result of divorce is on the rise. Parents are too engrossed in productive and other socioeconomic roles to spend time with their children or notice the pain they are going through. The number of children with attention-seeking behavior, emotional insecurity, suicidal tendencies, malnutrition, obesity, dyslexia and insensitivity as a result of divorce is growing by the day. These are real and growing problems. Many separations and divorce are highly emotional affairs that immerse the children in conflict. Children should grow up in a family environment, an atmosphere of happiness, love and understanding for the full and harmonious development of his or her personality. This book gives recommendations to parents, government and other stakeholders on the importance of putting the interest of the child first.
