Digitalisation Banking in Algeria

The development of technology in all economic sectors has led the Algerian banking authorities to progressively invest in new information and communication technologies (NICT). The latter have become essential means for the development of the banking activity and in particular the improvement and modernization of the payment system.Indeed, since the previous years, Algeria has committed itself on the technical and financial levels with the World Bank to modernize its payment system, particularly in the online environment and this in order to promote the management of payments, the core business of the bank, to protect the users against undue losses, The statistics of the Bank of Algeria show that the electronic payment system remains the weakest link in the operation of dematerialization of means of payment, and they also indicate that the cultural factor seems to be a decisive element for the success of the promotion of the digital culture in Algeria.
