Diagnostic Enzymology

Diagnostic Enzymology is designed as a textbook for the students of paramedical sciences; in addition it will also serve as an invaluable reference for the students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in life sciences. The book is divided into two sections. The section of Enzyme basics deals with fundamentals of enzymology such as history, properties, classification ,nomenclature, specificity,kinetics,factors affecting enzymatic activity, inhibition, control of enzymatic activity, enzyme assays and mechanisms responsible for abnormal enzyme levels. Specific enzyme section deals with important diagnostic enzymes in detail. Each chapter of diagnostic enzyme is further divided into three sections viz introduction, clinical significance and assay procedures. The exact protocol is discussed so that students can assay the enzymes in the laboratory.
