Through a cross-sectional observational-descriptive study to determine the behavior of chronic complications in diabetic patients in 5 medical offices, it was found that chronic complications were more frequent in the age group of 60 and over (45 patients), with a predominance of the female sex (46 patients). The main risk factors found were arterial hypertension, smoking, sedentary lifestyle, obesity and family history, and it was also observed that chronic complications of diabetes mellitus are directly proportional to the time of evolution of the disease.
