It is not a disease in itself, but is an important risk factor for cardiovascular mortality and morbidity.The conventional drug delivery system is not effective to cure and provide a immediate or controlled release action to overcome this problems, Transdermal delivery system is effective as this delivery system lying under the category of controlled drug delivery, in which the aim is to deliver the drug through skin in a predetermined and controlled rate. The present work in which there is a formulation of transdermal patches of Carvedilol an antihypertensive drug,a non selective beta adrenergic blocker is one of the widely prescribed drug in the managment of Hypertension, The delivery system increases the bioavailability of drug by formulated and delivered as transdermal patches without any side effects.
