Development of Electronic-nose for classification and grading of fruit

In this book a comprehensive literature survey of tropical fruits, compositional changes during ripening process, market requirement, various storage conditions and different fruit quality assessment techniques was carried out. At the beginning concepts of the e-nose technology is explained. Different types of gas sensors, signal processing, pattern recognition, hardware software employed, their advantages and limitations have been thoroughly discussed.The book clearly provides idea about design, development and fabrication of e-nose and machine vision based fruit sorter system for fruit ripeness assessments. The developed systems performance testing through various experiments are explained. The statistical as well as neural and fuzzy algorithms are explained with experimental data analysis.
