Development of Bistable Out-of-Plane SMA Nanoactuators

Diese Arbeit behandelt Entwurf und Herstellung bistabiler Nanoaktuatoren auf Basis von Formgedächtnislegierungen (FGL) mit Bewegungsrichtung senkrecht zur Substratebene für potenzielle Anwendungen im Bereich abstimmbarer photonischer Bauelemente. Die Restspannung und der Formgedächtniseffekt der FGL-Schichten bilden die Grundlage für den bistabilen Mechanismus. Für die entworfenen bistabilen Nanoaktuatoren und photonischen Strukturen werden Herstellungsverfahren entwickelt. Die Ergebnisse dieser Arbeit eröffnen neue Wege für die Entwicklung FGL-basierter bistabiler Nanoaktuatoren und deren Anwendung in der Photonik. This work investigates the design and fabrication of shape memory alloy (SMA) based bistable out-of-plane nanoactuators for potential applications in the field of tunable photonic devices. Residual stress and shape memory effect of the SMA films form the basis of the bistable mechanism. Fabrication processes are developed for the designed bistable nanoactuators and photonic structures. The results of this work open new routes for the development of SMA-based bistable nanoactuators and their application in photonics.
