Development of Analytical Methods for Pharmaceutical Formulations

The analysis of pharmaceuticals is most important for the quality, efficacy and safety of a drug substance (s) and its formulation. However, all over the world the need for pharmaceutical analysis is largely controlled by regulatory authorities and it is important that drug should meet high quality standards which are necessary for a product that is to be administrated to humans. The pharmaceutical industry comes under the government and public interest groups to continuously deliver the consumer with effective and safe drugs that fulfill medical needs. Analytical chemistry is playing a major role in the pharmaceutical industry today. In current scenario the analytical department has become an important partner in the drug development process and made pharmaceutical analysis much easier to what it has been fifteen years ago. A number of drugs are introduced into the market every year. These drugs may be either new entities or partial modification of the existing ones. Under these conditions new standards and analytical methods with advance technologies are needed for the analysis of drugs. It becomes utmost important to develop newer analytical methods for such drugs.
