Developing Imagination and Imaginative Thinking in Younger Students

Younger school age is a special period in human life. In the period from 7 to 11 years there is an intensive development of mental processes, including imagination and emotional and figurative thinking. At this age, the peculiarity of children's activity is of great importance, which determines the peculiarity of the child's personality in its conditions. Along with the development of learning activities in the period of elementary schooling, productive activities develop: drawing, constructing, modeling, applique. Visual activity is one of the types of activity of the younger schoolboy and contains not only the general features of this age period, but also the functions common to all types of activity. Visual activity is a specific subsystem of a more general system - elementary school age, so the child's education, training and development in its conditions is in interrelation with his or her general development. Training is one of the forms of adult-organized communication with the child, the process of transferring and appropriation of social experience by the adult, including experience in creative activity. The development of the child's personality takes place in the process of activity appropriation.
