Determination of Sodium Benzoate and Water Quality Parameters

Sodium benzoate is a common preservative used in various food and beverage products, including juices. Its purpose is to inhibit the growth of microorganisms and extend the shelf life of the product. However, it is essential to monitor and analyze the levels of sodium benzoate in juices to ensure compliance with regulatory limits and consumer safety. This work used a simple, titrimetric method for the determination of benzoic acid in soft drinks samples.Water quality refers to the physical, chemical, and biological characteristics of water that determine its suitability for various purposes, including drinking, agriculture, industry, and aquatic ecosystems. Monitoring water quality is crucial to ensure the safety and health of both humans and the environment.
