Determinants of Success of CBOs' projects in Nairobi

This book examines challenges faced by Community Based Organizations (CBOs) in their efforts to bring about changes at community levels. CBOs experience challenges in management and meeting their mandate even though they are strategically placed in communities and are in a good position to diagnose community social problems and effect change. Their mandates are however larger than their capacity and are faced with daunting task of achieving social interventions. There are however some CBOs that have achieved certain successes in meeting goals in areas they work in. The purpose of this study was to determine success factors of CBOs in the informal settlements of Nairobi. The study focused on those CBOs in Nairobi informal settlements that engage in good governance activities.
