Detection of Adverse Drug Reactions in Hospitals

Adverse drug reactions are frequent, important and can be fatal; however, its detection is not always easy. This book aims to identify the frequency of ADRs that occur during hospitalization, to explore methodological issues of several different Pharmacovigilance methods, and to explore, characterize and validate new methodological Pharmacovigilance approaches. With these validated methodological approaches, this work shows how to build a nation-wide estimate of ADRs. This book also aims to detect and characterize ophthalmic ADRs and it provides the basis for a general systematic review of ophthalmic ADRs and for specific systematic reviews of ophthalmic ADRs to systemic drugs that need further assessment.
