This monograph presents an energy balance analysis of a residential one story house designed with energy efficient measures toward reducing electricity consumption in this tropical location. Statistic climate conditions as well as global positioning of Tegucigalpa (Capital of Honduras) are analyzed in order to perform a precise analysis of the heat gains and heat losses of the energy balance expression. One manual and two computer assisted calculations were carried out with help of the High Energy Efficiency Design (Heed) software and the Ida Indoor Climate and Energy v. 3.0
