New innovations are adding intelligence to the established and exhaustive usedtechnology. In this project a flexible printed dipole antenna is attempted. Flexibility in theantenna itself makes it immune to hostile conditions also adds reliability and repeatabilityin its performance. The objective is to make an antenna that can be deformed andsnapped back to its original shape without it being damaged. It significantly expandsstretchable electronics applications both in the communications and biomedical sectors.Flame Resistant class 4(FR4) substrate which is quite popularly used formicrostrip antenna had to be replaced with a flexible substrate. Material used for flexibleantenna Polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS) is of high value and has dielectric constant 2.3gives satisfactory results. It is replaced by an economical substrate named polymidehaving dielectric constant 4.3 which is pretty similar to FR 4.For making a Microstrip antenna flexible thickness of the substrate needs to bereduced which drastically affects the results.
