Design and Implementation of Prototype for Acupressure Therapy

There is a close correlation between stress and health risk factors such as poor immune system functioning and cardiovascular problems. Various researches showed that long-term exposure to stress and its related diseases are responsible for dramatic increase of mortality in the Western Countries. Generally majority of people face stress because of various factors such as physical environment, organizational factor, interpersonal factor, family satisfaction, personal satisfaction and job satisfaction etc. Researchers have developed many methods for treating the stress level out of which acupressure is one of the effective method. Acupressure is an ancient healing art using the fingers to gradually press key healing points, which stimulate the body¿s natural self-curative abilities. It was developed in Asia over 5,000 years ago. It is now being used in many Asian countries like China, Korea, Japan and India. It has also spread roots in many American countries. The theory is implemented in a prototype which is designed to provide an automatic acupressure therapy. 12 key organs of a human body are harnessed through the trigger points present on a human palm.
