Democratic Involvement of Students in High School Governance in Lesotho

The study investigated whether or not there is importance and necessity to include students at high school level in Lesotho, to be members of the governing bodies referred to as the board. It is in forums and meetings of the boards where decisions concerning how school has to be governed for maintenance of peace, justice, harmony and democratic principles in schools, are made. The study raises strong argument in favour of student's involvement in school boards by indicating that it is the right step to take as students would feel honoured and accept ownership of the decisions reached. Hence they will be less interested in engaging in ruthless actions such as strikes which often bring bitter results like vandalism, injuries, and sometimes death.
