Demand for livestock enterprises in Bangladesh

Bangladesh is an agricultural country. Traditional agriculture, poverty and malnutrition are the usual phenomena of rural Bangladesh. Development of the economy through rearing of livestock is enormous. Based on the descriptive and functional analyses of primary data, the author observed some positive achievements of rearing livestock by farm households. These are increases of income, savings, consumption, nutritional status, expenditure on education and treatment, women participation etc. But research on the impact of livestock rearing is still lacking in Bangladesh. This book will be helpful for the development partners, policy makers and even for farmers who want livestock development and food security in the country.
