Delivery of Youth Friendly Services

This book echoes the Adolescent Reproductive Health and Development Policy response to the concerns of youths by bringing reproductive health issues into the development limelight. The book is from a research done by the author and advocates on the need of having targeted approach as opposed to comprehensive in meeting the Sexual Reproductive Health issues of the youths. This Adolescent Reproductive Health and Development Policy has been pivotal in championing reproductive health issues of the youths and this has paved way to the development of the Plan of Action to strengthen commitment, partnership, networking and collaboration as well as resource mobilization efforts among stakeholders. The targeted approach champions in setting up the minimum conditions set by the Ministry of Health in order to call a facility ¿youth friendly¿ in the delivery of Youth Friendly Services. These minimum conditions include: affordability and accessibility, safe and basic range of services, privacy and confidentiality, provider competence and attitude, reliability and sustainability and an inbuilt monitoring and evaluation system.
