Dead Poets Society A Structural Perspective

The scientific concern and the aim of this book constitute the structural and functional analysis of the film, Dead Poets Society according to Russian Formalist and folklorist Vladimir Propp¿s methodology in his Morphology of the Folktale (1928). Such a purpose requires the development of a solid theoretical basis concerning narratological and structural implication of this methodological analysis, followed by the practical applicability of the theory to the textual analysis of the movie script of Dead Poets Society. The importance of the book is the creation of an original and new modality of approach to Dead Poets Society through one principle of research and evaluation, which is Vladimir Propp¿s methodology in Morphology of the Folktale.
