Nacimiento, desarrollo y función específica del mito atienden a un intento de visualización de los éxitos y fracasos humanos. Que sus periodos más fructíferos estén marcados por grandes confrontaciones y desplazamientos tribales no es casualidad. A mayor incertidumbre más anhelo de respuestas. La romantización a lo largo de los siglos ha camuflado su verdadera fuente fisiológica. Huir del dolor y optimización de la vida es su motor. Así, historias contadas por nómadas, pastores, poetas, guerreros, seres desahuciados, han compuesto leyendas que cantan cada victoria del intelecto humano, y cada derrota, a su paso por un mundo hostil.
