Danger signals: chemotherapy weapons to heighten anti-tumour immunity

Cancer is a complex genetic disease with a dangerous evolutionary dimension for our specie. In the context of cancer Dobzhansky¿s famous quote ¿Nothing in biology makes sense except in the light of evolution¿ is of particular interest. Indeed, our understanding of the inherent Darwinian character of cancer cells is given rise to the next generation of cancer therapies. In this book I write about how our immune system responds and adapts to cancer threat. I focus on some aspects of my research work and how they fit in the current cancer research state of art. ¿Research is like trying to find your way in a dark path with a little lantern that rarely lights up. Each discovery is one step closer to the most satisfying of successes.¿
