Africa as a continent comprises many cultures. In each country, beliefs, values, customs and behaviours differ widely. This is because,the society defines how people behave and live sexually according to social norms and attitudes of its members.One example of a cultural and sexual practice in Africa is the labia minora elongation (LME) which is evident in some countries across the continent. This book summarises a study conducted on the practice of LME in Rwanda.This practice consists of stretching the labia minora.Traditionally, the practice seeks to enhance the sexual pleasure and stimulation of both partners and thus sustains the well-being of the couple.
