Cross-analysis for Sustainable Solutions Strategies for Aquaculture Industry

A cross-analysis was applied to Benin Royal Fish Farm (BRFF) and showed that BRFF is a corporate level strategy based its core competencies and values. Its organizational culture is a hierarchy and market-oriented cultures.The analysis showed alignment of the BRFF¿s mission and vision with the concepts of organization culture, strategy level, capabilities and skills. However, these success factors need to be reinforced and the company could rely on a strategy built on low-cost leadership and customer relationship. The analysis highlighted that aquaculture industry face a threat from the climate change, substitute, and new entry with low entry barriers, weak positions of suppliers and buyers. It also showed two value chains that are African Catfish value chain and Tilapia value chain. Moreover, it showed that aquaculture industry has the boid phenomenon and potential environmental impacts and small aquaculture businesses could use sustainable value framework to reduce the use of natural water resources, build brand identity, promote innovation and legimacy, and sustain growth.
