Cow's milk protein allergy.

Among the adverse events that can occur when ingesting cow's milk, protein allergy is the most frequent in children under five years of age, constituting a health problem, especially in the first year of life. It can be associated or confused with cow's milk protein intolerance, lactose intolerance and gastro-oesophageal reflux. This makes management by the physician more difficult and causes poor quality of life for the child with family stress. Most of the time it can be prevented by maintaining exclusive breastfeeding for the first year of life or at least six months.
