Covid-19 and Periodontics

The novel coronavirus is a new strain of the corona virus. this disease caused by it, and it is first unidentified in Wuhan, China, has been named corona virus 2019 (COVID -19). This pandemic spread worldwide, and it is announced as a disaster for human population. the corona virus is acute respiratory disease syndrome but it¿s severity effects the any part of the body and it led to the multiorgan dysfunction. If it is untreated, then it will lead to death. This virus shows a drastic effect on oral health. because of outbreak and social distancing criteria, all the dental procedures are not performed during this pandemic. Aerosol is produced during dental treatment, and they provide favourable environment for long term survival of corona virus. This virus has direct relationship with the periodontal health. this book is aimed to show the how corona virus affects the oral and periodontal health. The pathogenesis of disease in relation with cytokine Strome and management of dental and periodontal practice during that pandemic. this book will provide a path for future research towards corona virus pandemic and its management to prevent further complication.
