COVID-19 among school teachers and students

Corona virus disease 2019 is an illness caused by a novel corona virus now called ¿severe acute respiratory syndrome corona virus 2¿. It is transmitted by contact, droplets and fomites. It presents with illness ranging from asymptomatic or mild illness to severe disease and may be death. PCR, laboratory and serological investigations with computed tomography used to diagnose it. COVID-19 crisis has influenced all aspects of our lives causing panic and anxiety. Media has exaggerated the COVID-19 which increased fear and anxiety causing elevation of stress hormones which adversely affected the body physiology leading to multi-organ affection. Psychological stress increases the risk of acute upper respiratory tract infections and change immune system responses, which might increase disease susceptibility. Cortisol concentrations in patients with COVID-19 were monitored higher where severe infection outcomes are more noticeable than in those without COVID-19. This pandemic affected education globally. It leads to closure of all educational face-to-face activities in more than 190 countries in order to prevent the spread of the virus.
