COST ESTIMATION OF BUILDING MATERIAL PROCUREMENT FOR HOUSING PROJECT

This book considered the High level importance of Method of Cost Estimation for Building Material for Housing Estate Project Development so as to reduce the rate of project delay and abandonment, resulting from time and cost overrun and to help housing developers in financial planning so as to know the cost of building materials before the start of any housing project. This would support the successful delivery of such Housing Project. Furthermore, a case study consideration was given, where material cost estimation was conducted for Housing Estate development project, comprising of ten standard identical blocks of 4-bedroom duplexes. The cost estimation was carried out for all the phases of the Housing development life cycle except for the interior decoration and land acquisition costing. Though this research was conducted considering the present Economic condition of the environment under consideration but can subsequently serve as a guide to Housing Development Agencies to cost estimate subsequent Housing Development Projects.
