Correlation between vocal symptoms and their possible causes

Many people are interested in being part of a choir group, whether at church, school or university. Whether it is for a hobby or for the love of singing. It does not matter what musical style a group belongs to, but it is always important to be concerned about maintaining vocal health before, during and after the singing activity. And I am not only talking about warming up and cooling down the voice, I am also talking about the need to know, although it is often difficult in amateur choirs, the correct classification of the voice so that singing is comfortable, easy and there is no effort and future damage to the vocal folds. This book had the objective of correlating the main vocal symptoms and their possible causes in a group of choir singers from São Paulo. The results show us that the singers analyzed had a good knowledge about their voice and the relationship between vocal symptoms and the causes presented. However, an awareness work that addresses not only the voice, but also aspects such as lifestyle and nutrition is necessary.
