CORRECTION OF DEVELOPING SKELETAL CLASS III MALOCCLUSION IN CHILDREN

Skeletal class III malocclusion is one of the most challenging condition in clinical dental practice. Treatment planning for skeletal class III malocclusion should be initiated only after considering certain factors such as age, genetics and severity of the condition. Treatment timing is however controversial. Various treatment options are available for the management of the condition, which are Reverse Twin Block, Frankel III appliance, Facemask, Bone Anchorage Maxillary Protraction devices, Tandem Traction Bow Appliances and Chin cup therapy. However, each of the treatment options have its own advantages and disadvantages. An ample amount of literature is present for the treatment of the same. This book briefly describes the condition followed by the method used for diagnosis, treatment timing and also explains each appliance in detail with adequate literature support.
