Corporate Social Responsibility in Nigeria:

This book is a product of extensive research into the philosophical and pragmatic applications of the concept of corporate social responsibility (CSR). Starting from the historical and fundamental principles of corporate accountability to the contemporary issues of business ethics it investigates the relevance of fashioning an acceptable legal framework for the application of CSR tenets as a tool for development in emerging economies. Considering the dichotomy in the advancement of the Western economies, this book argues that the failures in implementing CSR legislation in Nigeria - and by extension other emerging economies - is due primarily to the lack of appreciation of the potential multiplier embedding corporate social purposes portends for developing nations.
