SACCOs are unique, legal member based micro finance institutions (MFIs)and unlike many other micro finance institutions, SACCO owners are also the users of the services that these institutions offer. SACCOs should therefore, be properly managed and controlled, with strong monitoring mechanisms put in place so that they achieve their objectives, grow and survive in the long run.
