Cooperation between the European Union and Burkina Faso

This study is a reflection on the political and economic evolution of relations between the European Union and Burkina Faso based on the application of the Economic Partnership Agreements from 2000 to 2015. The paper is divided into two parts. The first part deals with the theoretical framework and the history of the advent of the EPAs in Burkina Faso. It traces the history of the agreements concluded between the European Union and the ACP countries. It also focuses on trade agreements, particularly economic partnership agreements. The second part analyses the areas of cooperation between the European Union and Burkina Faso on the one hand, and on the other, makes a critical analysis of the economic partnership agreements on the economic and social development of Burkina Faso.
