Wheat is a major staple food grain crop in Pakistan but it does not fulfill food requirements of our people. Millions of people suffer from hunger and face sudden food crisis every day. In order to cope with increasing demand for food of our population, it is imperative to increase food production in high yielding varieties or bringing more area under this crop or we have to reduce our post harvest losses due to unavoidable factors. Fortunately this crop has no serious pest problem in the field but during storage it suffers heavy losses, both quantitative and qualitative, due to stored insect pest complex.
