Contemporary Approaches to Music Teaching and Learning

Contemporary music education is faced with the challenges of authentic musical communication in music teaching and learning. This sets the basis for the autonomy of music education as one of the artistic school subjects as well as for its indispensability in the interdisciplinary educational approach and as part of human life in general. This book, therefore, provides complex insight in different aspects of music education in Slovene general and music schools which are, nevertheless, connected by the importance of a balanced, active and creative teaching and learning through musical language.
