Conservation of Water Bodies in Western Rajasthan

The book is an effort to assess the available water resources, current demand, future projection, technological options for water management and highlight the various scientific techniques and methods adopted for the conservation and management of rain water in western Rajasthan. In view of the water scarcity being faced by the state, comprehensive and integrated planning of development of surface and ground water is needed. High priority needs to be accorded to efficient water supply system, use of water saving devices and improved irrigation practices. Groundwater is popularly the only source of drinking water in many regions of the state. This need promoted the need of efficient water harvesting techniques in Rajasthan since a long time.
