In few cases Orthodontists toil to achieve an acceptable out turn.Many of the finishing phases deals with arduous efforts, due to disparity between maxillary and mandibular tooth size. To vanquish this, sir Wayne Bolton formulated "Boltons ratio", a constant proportion to achieve perfect occlusion between upper and lower dentition.This aid the Orthodontists in predicting some part of treatment outcome without any need for additional diagnostic setups. Nonetheless, some limitations are found in Boltons analysis and reliability is still to be discussed as a matter of fact. Few pitfalls, such as ethnicity, population group,sexual dimorphism were not exactly specified by Sir Wayne Bolton.This book bestows, 1)formulated new norms in ethnic Indian population for parameters-Anterior,overall tooth ratio,overjet and overbite, 2)collated sexual dimorphism in Indian populace,3)compared the new ethnic Indian population and Caucasians norms based on above mentioned parameters.I hope this book assists the readers.
