Communication of Floricultural Technologies Through Visual Aids

In India high-tech floriculture flourished during 1990s. Scarcity of material on production technology of flower crops in polyhouse in context of Indian climate and in regional language was a major barrier. The present study was undertaken to develop four broadcast quality educational video films viz.,1) Gerbera Production Technology 2) Rose Production in Open fields 3) Rose Production in Polyhouse 4) Rose Plant Protection as well as information pamphlets,with a view to support the university curriculum.Influence of these video films in learning and improving knowledge level and its retention among learners and practicing farmers were assessed. Feasibility of video films as using in lieu of live demonstration was also assessed.
