Communicating and disconnecting online

The article examines the Internet as a popular communication technology that allows us to choose the optimal format and genre of communication. The authors compare the opportunities provided for communication by social networks and blogging platforms. It is noted that social networks today occupy higher positions in the list of preferences of Internet users. The general and specific features of genres as "tertiary" genres according to Mikhail Bakhtin's concept are highlighted, concerning in particular their nature, the language serving such communication, as well as the model of performing the communicative act and the functions performed by blogs and posts on social networks. We consider technoligy (communication platform, software, interface) as a genre-forming feature.
